2010 Small Business of the Year - The West Plains Chamber of Commerce named Cheney Tech the 2010 Small Business of the Year. In February 2010, the Cheney Free Press issued the following article:

Cheney Tech was chosen as the small business of the year after a 2009 move transformed it from a home-based software development enterprise to a new store on Cheney’s First Street that offers a wide range of computer services to EWU students, local businesses and area residents. Barbery called owner Jason Alvarado “one of the success stories that has inspired us all” and said the business had contributed to a revitalization effort in downtown Cheney. “To win an award in our first year of business is really something to be excited about,” Alvarado said.
